About Gainesville Bat Removal

Welcome to gainesvillebat.com. We are the only qualified bat removal company in Gainesville, Florida. There are many reasons why you should seek assistance from a professional animal removal company when you are dealing with a bat infestation issue, and the risk of disease transmission should certainly be high on this list. While bats can be a very positive influence if they are living in your area as they consume a lot of mosquitoes and airborne insects, they are also a species that can transmit some dangerous diseases. While rabies transmission from bats to humans is rare, catching histoplasmosis when dealing with bat droppings is a much more common situation if protective equipment isn't worn. If you have a bat infestation, we can have one of our technicians with you inside 24 hours to start work on your problem, and we have an excellent reputation which is supported by our wealth of online reviews from satisfied customers. All of our animal removal experts have the right protective equipment to carry out bat exclusion work safely for you, and they can also carry out a full clean of the attic or loft space which includes the safe removal of all the bat droppings that will be present there. All our staff are also trained in being able to offer high quality repairs, and can also carry out insulation replacement work where the insulation has been soiled by the bat droppings. If you are worried about bats in the roof space of your home, give one of our friendly team members a call to discuss your needs. We operate 24-7-365, so don't hesitate to call us at 352-663-1100 to discuss your bat problem and schedule a fast appointment.

Residential

We are experts at removing bats from residential properties. Whether you have a single bat trapped in your house, a colony roosting in your attic, and/or various other problems, there is no need to worry! During our removal process, we make sure to inspect your entire home carefully, tracking down all the entrypoints bats are using to invade your place. Next, we perform a process called live exclusion (where no bats are harmed and all exit your property), then seal all entry holes completely shut. We also take care of the cleanup process after, so your home is safe and clean!

Commercial

Besides residential areas, we also have a wealth of experience removing bats from commercial properties! We begin by investigating the area for possible bat entrances, covering holes even as small as 1/4 of an inch. Through our live exclusion process, bats leave the building through one-way exits, and we seal up every hole afterward. Once the bats have been removed, we perform a cleanup process. This includes dealing with guano, replacing damaged insulation, and decontaminating the place.

Bats in the Attic – Will They Nest and Have Babies?

During spring, it comes time for bats to start giving birth to young. Like other mothers in the animal kingdom, bats want to find somewhere safe. They want a place they know they can care for their young and have them grow until they can care for themselves.

There are tons of places bats will choose to nest, depending on what is available to them. One place that may catch their attention is your attic.

Your attic makes for a perfect nesting spot, especially so when they have babies. It gives them safety, comfort, darkness – everything they need when they are taking care of their young.

Nesting Bats

Bats like to find dark, secluded areas to nest. Places where they can have darkness during the day and safety at all times.

When they nest, they need a big space for this, too. For their young and for themselves, they need a space that is big enough for the amount of bats nesting. With so many bats coming together to nest, they are going to want something large enough for them all.

Your attic makes a perfect location for bats. It is similar to caves for bat-dwelling caves and it has the space and seclusion that all bats want when nesting.

If there is an opening into your attic, even a small one, you should expect that bats will go in. During the spring, there is a high chance they are going to have babies while in there.

What to Do

If bats are not in your attic currently, close up any opening into your attic. Look thoroughly and seal off every potential access point. Do not give the bats the opportunity to nest in your attic. Make them find another place from the start.

If bats are already in your attic, you are going to have to get them out first. If they have not had babies, just using exclusion funnels is good enough. The bats will leave on their own to find food and have no way back into your attic.

For bats that have already had babies, you might be better off waiting. It takes only a few weeks for babies to begin flying and you might have to remove the young physically if you try removal too early.

Be aware that bats will have babies in your attic. This is something you have to expect if there is an opening to your attic and if bats are in your area.
